After Care
To achieve the best possible treatment outcome, please adhere to the following aftercare instructions.
For all procedures
- The treated area will appear darker in colour when first treated. Approximately 30-50%, possibly more of the colour intensity will be lost during the healing process. The colour will soften during healing.
- Apply aftercare cream Bepantham to the area at a minimum every morning, afternoon and evening for a period of 10 days, using cotton bud. Except when directed otherwise. See below treatment pertaining to you. (It is important to keep the area moist)
- When applying Bepantham always use cotton bud.
- Schedule your retouch appointment within 4-8 weeks of the initial treatment, not before. This allows time for the healing process to be complete. The practitioner is then able to correctly assess the colour and make any adjustment required. Any areas that have resisted or lost pigment will be retouched. If you do not schedule your retouch within 8 weeks of the initial procedure, you will be charged as per full retail treatment price.
- Stay out of the sun whilst the tattoo is healing (7-10 days). Once the area has healed you can apply sun block or keep the area covered when in the sun to prevent fading.
- There may be slight swelling. It will subside within couple of hours. You may apply an icepack to the side of your face to help soothe any uncomfortable feeling. Avoid touching the area to avoid infection.
- No swimming in chlorine or in salt water or sauna, spa or sunbed for 7-10 days or until the procedure area has healed.
- Do not let your face near pets or small children nor participate in sports that can potentially infect the area.
- Do not pick or peel any crust that may form on the pigmented area. Otherwise you will be removing the pigment along with the crust.
- Do not rub or traumatise treated area and to prevent infection avoid touching area with fingers.
- Do not use soaps, cleansers or moisturisers in the pigmented area until it is completely healed.COSMETECHCLINI QUE
Eye Liner care instructions
If you wear contact lenses, we advise you to arrange transport home or use glasses. The contacts should not be replaced for a minimum of two hours or until eyes are settled. Do not use eyelash curler or mascara for a period of 7 days. When you resume using mascara, purchase a new one.
Eyebrow care instructions
- Apply aftercare cream every hour for a period of 10 days, using cotton bud to apply.
- Avoid putting on makeup on the area for 7-10 days or until the area has healed.
- When washing hair tilt head back and avoid water, shampoos or conditioners splashing on eyebrows.
- Remember if you choose a lighter colour pigment, you will find that your colour will fade quicker than a darker pigment. In some cases, you could lose all the colour.
- After a week or so the area and top layer starts to scab and shed off in sections. The new exposed pigment will eventually soften and settle.
- Some people have resistant skin types where the pigment will not take. You may need more than one or two touch ups.
Lip care instructions
- Use baking soda or children’s toothpaste when brushing teeth and be careful with your lips when cleaning your teeth.
- For the first few days, drink with a straw (full lips only)
- Do not use Lipstick, Lip Balm or Lip Gloss until the area is completely healed.
- Avoid licking lips. This will impede the healing process
- Avoid kissing until healing is complete. Avoid wiping the lips, when eating
- Avoid citrus fruits and juices during the healing phase.
General healing time is generally 7-10 days. 3 to 4 days the epidermis sloughs off and the skin heals over the pigment making the colour look lighter. At this stage your lips can appear to look opaque as you develop a second and quite possibly a third chapping. It may look as if you lost all your lip colour during this time, however in most cases if you wait another 2 weeks the skin becomes translucent and the colour should bloom. It is not uncommon to lose up to 60% to 90% of colour on the first application and because desired results may vary from person to person.
